Why yes, that is Kagome Higurashi coming up from the well.
I wanted to make this piece simple and soft and I actually had a very hard time with it. It went through changes like you wouldn't believe. I really do dislike Kagome alot, haha so Kagome haters (or lovers) eat your heart out. Oils. The paint is still wet so there's a glare. Edit: completed.. =_= |

wow wow wow.... I love the adaptation on it... I didn't realize it was Kagome at first but you can tell now...
well I'm no good at painting but I know my friend used to use a lot of different shading and layers of strokes to make grass more textured. She also used to draw some blades in by hand.
haha other than that I can't really help much but I just really liked the style of the picture.... so real looking which is nice. Adore her face!
Great work~

i'm no expert but she stands out more then enough ... about the cloud you should less black like that ... and about the grass look at pictures of grass and see were the light hits and were there is shadow ... depending on that you can put little brush strokes of white and darker green to make it look like grass ...

she really looks beautiful and i think she stands out enough but perhaps you could make more shadows in her right arm because only the arm looks a bit flat. don´t use so much black in the cloud and blur (don´t know if it is the right word) it more. in the grass you could make short lines in diffrent green tones, white and black.

I would like to be the air that inhabits you for a moment only. I would like to be that unnoticed, and that necessary.
To make sure you don't get the glare, never use a flash on oils. That's what my teacher told me. I like the realism in this piece, but I didn't actually notice it was a well until I read your comments. For clouds, it's a good idea to have the big ones at the top of the page, and the smaller ones near the bottom. Hope this helps!

I thank *Gordorca for the awesome avatar!
And I'll definitely get rid off more of the black on the cloud.
Thankyou
What's next?!
